Installing Applications - How to change the default location?
You have 2 partitions, C: and D:, the C: partition space is decreasing and you wish to automatically install your applications on the D: partition without changing the destination drive each time during the beginning of an installation?
Solution
Here is the solution:
- Click on "Start" > "Run"
- Type: “regedit”
- Locate this directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
- Search for ProgramFilesDir. by default, this value will be C:\Program Files. Edit the value another drive or folder.
This will be the default destination where your applications will be installed to!
